It may still be warm, but cold weather WILL be here before you know it. Customer Service/Receiving Manager Dan Stephany purchased one last year and had the perfect opportunity to break it in during our peak below zero temps in January.
Dan explains the three main reasons he thinks this Under Armour ColdGear Balaclava is worth the price.
First, the infrared technology really kept my face warm and the lining didn’t allow the wind to cut through. It also allowed me to have most of my head covered and, since we lose the largest amount of heat through our head, that helped me retain heat and sit on a stand for a longer amount of time in below-zero wind chills.
Second reason - it’s great to wear for the dreaded winter chore of clearing the driveway with a snow blower. The snow thrown back in the wind, doesn’t go down my neck. I can pull it down under the tip of my nose and wear goggles, too.
Last, but not least, when worn over your mouth the balaclava filters your breath and helps in additional scent control.The versatility of the balaclava is great. I can pull it down under my nose, up over my nose, off face or pulled down completely as a gaiter.
The inside material reflects and retains your body heat to warm you on those bitterly cold days, while the scent control helps keep you undetected by reducing odors.
