Backcountry Fishing Report World Wide Sportsman, Islamorada, Florida

Well I hope everyone’s Christmas went as they wanted it to and you got all your fishing rods and tackle that you needed or wanted under the tree.  Let’s give it up 2016 in hopes for the best fishing trips of all times.  And speaking of fishing trips the rush has now quelled but wow there were some outstanding days during the after Christmas rush.  Tons of Folk’s streamed down Highway US1 and spread themselves out between Key West and Key Largo.  Now I cannot speak for what was caught anywhere else but, here in Islamorada.  If it was anything like here at home it must have been Fantastic.  We had to overcome some windy conditions but wow we caught a lot of fish.  The numbers of Mackerel in the Gulf and Bay are off the chart.  Lots of big Mangrovers and juvenile Muttons thrilled so many.  I cannot believe how many Tarpon were caught, but the warmer conditions have allowed a lot of the Silver kings to hand around longer than normal.  Snook actions is not to be denied a mention either good numbers of them making plenty folks smiling.  We are keeping our fingers crossed for the soon arrival of Sheepshead and Black Drum to add to the menu of things to catch.  Do not forget to include World Wide Sportsman to your things to do when you come to visit there is lots to see and do and we look forward to seeing everyone.  Thanks Again, Come Catchemup, Captain Ron

There are lots to do and lots to catch, and Fun to have, no matter what the weather.
