From what I’ve read, research into bass hearing capabilities has suggested that bass have a limited range of hearing. And it turns out they can’t hear high frequency sounds -like the little b-b’s in most “rattle-baits”. This is especially so in shallow “soft” places (mud, weeds) that restrict and absorb sound.
