2016 Spring Fishing Classic

                                        

The 2016 Spring Fishing Classic is an annual event hosted by Bass Pro Shops each year. This year, it will be held on February 12 through 21. Throughout the event, there will be trade-ins, seminars, kid’s events, sales and more!

Throughout the event, there will be a Smashin’ Smallies sweepstakes drawing. You can enter for the chance to win a fishing trip with KVD, Zona & Mercer. Also during the Spring Fishing Classic, you can trade-in your old rods and reels to receive a coupon for money off the purchase of a new rod or reel. Each of the rods and reels turned in will be examined and donated to spread the passion of fishing with others.

During the Spring Fishing Classic, we will be hosting a total of 7 local fishing seminars, each led by one of our local pro staffers. The first 25 people to attend these seminars will receive a free Bass Pro Shops logo cooler. The seminars are scheduled as followed:

Friday, February 19

  • 7:00 pm Bladed Jigs: Learn How and Where to Fish Bladed Jigs for Your Next Big Catch

Saturday, February 20

  • 11:00 am New to Fishing? Learn All You Need to Know to Get Started
  • 2:00 pm Understanding Baitfish and Their Seasonal Movements
  • 4:00 pm  The Strategy of Successful Kayak Fishing

Sunday, February 21

  • 11:00 am New to Fishing? Learn All You Need to Know to Get Started
  • 2:00 pm Understanding Baitfish and Their Seasonal Movements
  • 4:00 pm  The Strategy of Successful Kayak Fishing

On February 20 at 1:30 pm, we will be holding a Women’s Workshop on fishing basics and how much fun fishing is. The first 25 women to attend the workshop will receive a free Bass Pro Shops logo tumbler.

The weekend of February 20 and 21, we will be hosting the Next Generation Weekend for kids. There will be Casting, Photos, Crafts and more for the kids to participate in. From noon to 5:00 pm, kids can try to cast into the fish casting buckets. Those who make it in the bucket will receive a fish shaped water bottle. Kids can take pictures with the bluegill replica and other props from noon to 5:00 pm. The photo will be sent through email for the free photo download. Crafts will be held from noon to 5:00 pm as well. Lastly, on February 20 and 21 at 4:30 pm, kids can attend a fishing workshop to learn how to catch a fish by thinking the way a fish thinks.The first 100 kids to do each of the Next Generation Activities will receive a free drawstring bag.
